As an 80's kid, Phil Collins and Genesis were inescapable on the radio and it wasn't a big surprise that I became a fan. Later on I learned about their previous lineups and albums before Invisible Touch. Got excited about the We Can't Dance tour and bummed about the Calling All Stations album. Figured that was that, and I'd just keep listening to their older stuff. Got excited to see they were touring again, but the cheapest tickets I could find were $300 a piece, and the band didn't sound the same as it used to. Another bummer as that was well outside my budget. I'll keep playing the music, singing along to the hits, and enjoying the longs as something more expressive.

For a great Genesis cover-medley, I can recommend the one on Martin Miller's YouTube channel (He's also got great medleys of '80s hits and The Police. Great stuff.)

One last thing: Phil's son Nic Collins is scary-talented and gives great analyses of Genesis grooves.
